February Begins

We were only in Hawaii until the 10th of February, but we enjoyed seeing Brian and Barb Vance and their kids and grands briefly before we left. Brian and Barb flew in on Friday and we made a flying trip over to Ookala to see the job before heading back to Waikoloa to get ready to go out to dinner at Brown's Beach House at Mauna Lani. Dinner was exceptional and the sunset gorgeous...and the company wasn't too bad either.

Saturday, after we dropped Brian and Barb off to pick up their car, we headed to Kealakekua Bay for some exercise and a day of snorkeling. We hadn't snorkeled for a couple weeks.

This yellow and white Tang is pretty unusual to see.  They are almost always solid yellow.

These Peacock Groupers often hang out close to Moray Eels.

A BIG Peacock Grooper.

Moorish Idol.

Pretty cool underwater arch.

Spotted Puffer.

Barred Filefish.

This HUGE Yellowmargin Moray was lying down in
a crevice..he appeared to be about 6-8 inches deep....so
who knows how long he was...we hoped he would come
out on one hand and were glad he didn't on another.

Christmas Wrasse.

Good example of a Yellow Tang and a Goldring Surgeon.

Sunday Brian and Barb went to Auntie Vi's with us then we headed to
Waimea for gospel meeting afterwards we joined them and theirs at the
house they were renting in Kona.  We enjoyed thesunset and had a nice
supper with them before heading back to Waikoloa. I zipped down to
Kahalu'u to snorkel on Monday before flying home to Idaho.
