More October

We headed to Idaho in time for Keaton's birthday party and then were back again a few weeks later. The end of October was uneventful....just Kelly working and catching a few more sunsets and a wee bit of beach time. All in a day's work on the Big Island.
Cub floating in the ocean right before sunset.

Some nice person took our picture.

Love this of Maui on the horizon.

Okay...I think this is a favorite....it is very hard for me to eliminate pictures.

Finally took a picture of the Big Island Dinosaur...someone has added a head to the lava.

Thought I would post a couple pictures of where we are at....our condo
at Colony Villas, Waikoloa Beach Resort.
Afternoon sun and clouds.....yes, it is cloudy sometimes.

Our unit...Master bedroom upstairs, dining room, living room, kitchen and guest room downstairs.

Front entryway.

Front entry/bike storage.

Small but handy garage.

Pool area from our unit.

                                                               Saturday at the Beach
We always try to do something on Saturdays....which I guess means we are almost
like locals.  A lot of the beaches are pretty busy on the weekends...so we
try to go to less accessible ones. Makalawena is one of our favorites.
It means a short but rough drive in and then a bit of a hike over a lava trail.

Bless his little heart....he carries our chairs in.

First glimpse of the beach.

 Looking South
Here we are...a practically deserted beach on a Saturday....only on the Big Island!!

Looking North

Looking out to sea!!

For awhile, the clouds rolled in...a few drops of rain and then sunshine again.

Right over the sand dune is a nifty spot to rinse your feet before heading back.

Our little piece of paradise that Saturday afternoon.

Friendly, neighborhood goats.

 Here's a few more snorkeling pictures...every once
in awhile I head to Kahalu'u Bay
to snorkel by myself....It is the only place I feel totally fine snorkeling
on my own...it is very protected with lots of other snorkelers.
