Mid September...Scott & Fay's Visit (Part One)

Mid September, Scott and Fay came over to work (Scott) and visit (Fay). We had an awesome week with them. The guys worked hard and then we made them relax....by dragging them around sightseeing in the late afternoons and evenings. We did some hiking...snorkeling..beach bumming, all the great things one does while in Hawaii.
They arrived Saturday evening and Sunday was a busy day with morning meeting and afternoon gospel meeting.

This is the scenic overlook above Kona.

Lunch at The Fish Hopper, open air dining at its best.

They guys headed off to work every morning and then several days Fay and I
drove to the job and stole them for some island sight seeing.

Akaka Falls.

A Banyan tree on the Akaka Falls walk

They grow BIG leaves here!!

Akaka Falls

Akaka Falls in the afternoon sun.

Baby bananas...with the flower at the end of the stalk.

A quick glimpse of Akaka Falls at the beginning of the walk.

After Akaka Falls we stopped at Kolekole Beach Park...a very rocky beach.

Wild and beautiful.

My hubby is turning into a "rock stacker".

It was just at dusk on the east side of the island...so alas....no sunset!

Turkeys by Waialea Beach.

Fay calling her kids to have them listen to the ocean.  Hapuna Beach.

Fay and I stopped in at Hapuna Beach and Waialea Beach
on our way to meet the guys at the job.

On the road to the job between Waimea and Ookala.

Orchids along the side of the road.

Beautiful....but a little wind blown.

An interesting flower in Honokaa.

Gorgeous Hibiscus.

After we picked up the guys we headed down to Wiapi'o Valley...the
steepest road that we have ever driven.

Dusk again...Maui is peaking out above the clouds on the horizon.
